Conception is the first of three parts in the Fatherhood Suite, serving as a moving solo piano piece that represents the beginning of life and the dawn of everything.

With eyes closed, listeners are invited to immerse themselves in the formation and the in-womb struggles of a new human being.

The piece features an intense moment where all the piano notes resonate together in forte, creating a cacophony of harmonies that reflects the chaos of creation before gently resolving into stillness.
